APSRTC FACILITIES

Monthly Season Ticket
To provide concessional travel to the daily commuters in mofussil area, Season Ticket System was introduced. Under this system, a commuter can pay fare for 20 days and travel for entire month.
Return Journey Ticket System
Introduced Return Journey Ticket system with 10% concession on Return Journey fare on routes, Hyderabad-Vijayawada, Hyderabad-Bangalore, Hyderabad-Tirupati, Hyderabad-Adilabad, Tirupati-Vijayawada and Hyderabad-Bhadrachalam. Later on this scheme has been extended to other routes of Hyderabad-Kakinada and Hyderabad-Amalapuram.
Return Journey Ticket Without Concession.
Return journey tickets without concession are also available on the routes of Hyderabad-Shirdi, Hyderabad-Puttaparti, Hyderabad-Mangalore, Hyderabad-Davanagere, Nellore-Bangalore etc.
Free Travel In City Services
Free travel facility is provided to passengers holding long distance advance reservation tickets from their residence to boarding bus station.
Package Tours
A new system of package tours starting from District Head Quarters to important pilgrim places within the Districts with flat fare have been introduced in Kurnool and Karimnagar Districts to promote tourism and for optimum utilization of spare buses.
Providing Newspapers Free Of Cost
To enhance the passengers' satisfaction, newspapers (free of cost) are being provided to the passengers traveling in Hitech services departing between 4.00 am and 8.00 a.m. from all major Bus Stations.
Value Addition (SHIRDI)
In order to thwart the private operators and to improve the occupancy in our buses, accommodation linked facility is provided duly having tie up with hotels at Shirdi .
Hail & Board
All the ordinary district buses will be stopped wherever the passengers intend to board the bus.
Authorised Ticket Booking Agency in Districts
To strengthen the Booking system in districts and also to provide the facility of ticket booking at the residential localities, the Authorized Ticket Booking Agency system in Districts has been introduced from the year, 1995. As of now about 450 booking agents are functioning through out the state.
Passengers Response Cards
To extend ticket reservation facility to the doorsteps of the customer and to improve the sale of tickets in twin cities, the scheme of computerized reservation system was introduced during the year, 1998.
Telephone Reservation & Home Delivery of reserved Tickets
The system of reservation of tickets on telephone and door delivery has been introduced from the year 1995. As on date, this facility is offered in 25 cities/towns like Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Guntur, Anantapur, Bangalore, Cuddapah, Eluru, Kakinada etc.
Reservation Through Credit Card Facility
Credit card facility has been introduced to issue advance reservation of tickets on the strength of credit cards and has been implemented at MGBS/Hyderabad and JBS/Secunderabad w.e.f. 1.12.2001 duly having a tie up with Citi-Bank.
Passenger Response Cards
Passenger Response Cards are designed to collect passengers' feed back and for taking remedial steps to improve passengers' satisfaction.
Prepaid Post Cards
Feed back from passengers by administering prepaid post cards for collecting opinion / perception of passengers to improve quality of Bus services.
Cancellation Refund Rules
Upto 2 hours before schedule departure time of service, entire fare will be refunded deducting reservation charges.

CAT Card
A new scheme christened "Concessional Annual Travel (CAT) Card" was launched on 01.01.2000.
a. The tariff of the card is Rs.200/-
b. The validity period is for one year from the date of issue.
c. The Travel Card is valid on all types of Mofussil services.
d. The card holder will get concession of 10% during the year of validity on fare and an additional compensation of Rs.1.50 lakh in case of death while traveling in our buses apart from the statutory compensation of accident claim.
e. The concession is made applicable on all fare slabs except on minimum fare slab for all types of mofussil services.

JET (Jubilee Express/Hi-Tech Tickets)
This scheme was launched on the eve of Golden Jubilee celebrations of Indian's Independence i.e., 15th Aug. 97. There are two types of JET Tickets i.e., Express (valid in all types of Express and ordinary services) and Hi-tech (valid in all Hi-tech, Luxury, Express, Ordinary & Mofussil services) with validity for 7 days to travel any where in Andhra Pradesh .

The tariff of Jubilee Express Ticket is Rs.525/- and Jubilee Hi-tech Ticket is Rs.625/-.

Monthly Season Ticket
To provide concessional travel to the daily commuters in mofussil area, SEASON TICKET SYSTEM was introduced. Under this system, a commuter can pay fare for 20 days and travel for entire month. These tickets are made available on all days throughout the month and valid for 30 days from the date of purchase. Thus, giving a concession of 33.33%.
Concession given on Bus Passes extended to various sections of society are:
i). Students below 12 years of Age extended 100% concession.
ii). Free travel bus passes to girl students studying up to class x and below are extended 100% concession.
iii). Student passes in cities/towns - slab rate concession working out to 75% fare concession.
iv). Students of High-schools/colleges - slab rate concession working out to 75% fare concession.
v).

Special general bus tickets - slab rated passes - concession working out to 40% concession.

vi). Exclusive trips to special schools - slab rated bus passes - working out to 60% concession fare.
vii). Physically handicapped bus passes - 100% concession extended on city routes, whereas 50% concession only on mofussil areas.
viii). Greater Hyderabad Pass - 75% concession extended only to students.

Link Ticket System\Return Journey Ticket To Tirumala
On reaching Tirupati (to avoid waiting in queue for purchase of tickets to proceed to Tirumala), the system of link tickets (Rs.16/- for ordinary and Rs.20/- for Express) to Tirumala has been introduced. These tickets are available at all the advance reservation counters and with the service conductors of Tirupati bound services.

Similarly, both up & down journeys ticket ordinary Rs.32/- , Express Rs.40/- can be purchased for onward and return journey from Tirupati to Tirumala. (These tickets are sold at all our Bus stations and through conductors of Tirupati bound services).

TREATS
A Scheme nomenclatured "TREATS" (Travel Regularly and Earn an Additional (free) Trip Scheme) was introduced with effect from 20th May, 1996 on the route Hyderabad - Vijayawada targeting frequent travelers. Under this scheme, a member of frequent plier programme will be extended a free trip after performing 5 fare paid trips in a period of 60 days, thus, giving a concession of 16.66%. Subsequently the TREAT Scheme was extended to Hyderabad - Bangalore route w.e.f. 01.03.2001 as there are considerable number of frequenters on this route. So far 2039 passengers have been enrolled under this scheme on route HYD-VJA(at PNBS) & 1089 (at MGBS) and for the route HYD-Bangalore 46 (at Bangalore) & 245 (at MGBS).

Computerised Tickets Booking Points in Twin Cities
To extend ticket reservation facility to the doorsteps of the customer and to improve the sale of tickets in twin cities, the scheme of computerized reservation system was introduced during the year, 1998. About 50 Computerized ticket booking centres are available apart from MGBS, JBS and Dilsukhnagar. Through the private computer ticket booking agents, daily 2019 tickets are sold on an average realising an amount of Rs.3,23,727/-.

Cancellation & Refund Rules
a. Upto 2 hours before schedule departure time of service, entire fare will be refunded deducting reservation charges.
b. Two hours before and upto schedule departure time of service, 90% fare will be refunded duly deducting reservation charges.
c. Upto 1 hour after schedule departure of the bus, 75% fare will be refunded duly deducting reservation charges.

Advanced Reservation of Tickets Through Credit Cards
Credit card facility has been introduced to issue advance reservation of tickets on the strength of credit cards has been implemented at MGBS/Hyderabad and JBS/Secunderabad w.e.f. 1.12.2001 duly having a tie up with Citi-Bank.
The salient features of the credit card are:
a. Facility to buy tickets on production of credit cards at reservation counters at MGBS, (Hyderabad) and JBS(Secunderabad).
b . All Master / Visa Cards are accepted.
c. No need to pay service charges by Credit Card holders.
d. Exclusive Reservation Counters are provided for Credit card holders to save time.
This facility is being extended soon to Bangalore, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam cities.

FREE Travel in City Services
a. Free travel facility is provided to passengers holding long distance advance reservation tickets from their residence to boarding bus station.
b.

As a passenger friendly measure, it is decided to collect the same fare applicable from / to the bus station from the passengers traveling from places beyond the busstations but within municipal limits in case of other cities and towns and 40 kms (upto BHEL) incase of Hyderabad/Secunderabad from IBS/JBS for all long distance services.

Value Addition (SHIRDI)
In order to thwart the private operators and to improve the occupancy in our buses, accommodation linked facility is provided duly having tie up with hotels at Shirdi on routes HYD-Shirdi, VJA-Shirdi and Kurnool - Shirdi by extending 10% concession in fare for both up and down journeys. 10% concession is also available for those passengers who purchase to and fro tickets without accommodation. This facility came into force w.e.f. 1.6.2002.

Categories
Students Below 12 Years of Age.
In pursuance of the policy of Andhra Pradesh State Government, Corporation has implemented the facility of issuing free bus passes to all the students below 12 years of age w.e.f. 01.02.1984, to travel free from the residence to school and back, irrespective of whether the Institution is of Government, aided or private one. There is no distance restriction for availing the bus pass. The facility is available in cities / towns and in rural areas.
Free Travel Bus Passes To Girl Students Studying Upto Class X and Below.
Based on the decision of the Government of Andhra Pradesh vide letter No.12540/Tr.III(2)/2000-1, dt.21.08.2000, Corporation has implemented free travel facility to all girl students upto an upper age limit of 18 years, studying Class X and below. This facility is extended for travel between the residence and school by ordinary services upto a maximum distance of 20 KMs. in rural areas and 22 KMs. in cities / towns.
Student Passes in Cities / Towns.

The students studying in the colleges located in cities / towns are issued with slab rated quarterly route bus passes for a minimum slab of 4 KMs. to 22 KMs. maximum .

These students are also issued with Monthly as well as Quarterly General bus tickets on the strength of which they are allowed to perform unrestricted journeys.

Students of High Schools / Colleges.

Students above 12 years of age studying in various schools / colleges, Higher Educational Institutions, Technical Institutions including private unaided Cooperative Junior Colleges and ITIs which are of the Government or recognized by the Andhra Pradesh State Government or Central Government or by the Government Board or affiliated to University are issued slab rated Monthly route bus passes whose tariff is based on the distance involved, valid for travel by the Ordinary buses only. These passes are issued for travel upto a maximum distance of 35 KMs. in case of students of Colleges / Higher Educational Institutions and upto 20 KMs. in respect of High School Students.

Special General Bus Tickets.
In addition to all the above types of bus passes, Corporation is also issuing Special Monthly General bus tickets in cities / towns to the students who are studying Job Oriented Courses. These bus passes are priced a little higher than the tariff charged to other regular students.
Exclusive Trips to Special Schools / Colleges.
Corporation operates exclusive buses to special schools / colleges, where the number of students utilizing the facility is not less than 60. This facility is available both in cities / towns and in rural areas.
Physically Handicapped Bus Passes.
Corporation is issuing bus passes to the Physically Handicapped, mentally retarded, blind, deaf & dumb persons to travel free by the buses operating in cities / towns. In case of services operating in rural areas, these physically handicapped persons are allowed 50 % concession in normal fares. Escorts to blind and mentally retarded are allowed when accompanying them. These escorts are charged a nominal fee of Rs.5.00 per head per month for travel by city buses and at 50 % concession by mofussil buses.
Greater Hyderabad Pass.
The General commuters, students and NGOs are issued with "GREATER HYDERABAD" passes in twin cities and Krishnaveni Darshan and Visakha Darshan passes in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam cities, respectively. The holder of this bus pass is allowed to perform unrestricted travel by city / suburban buses operating in that city in addition to avail the facility by district ordinary buses upto the destination and vice versa for which the ticket is purchased. The fare of this ticket is computed on the basis of monthly suburban General bus ticket plus the fare chargeable for the additional distance involved thereafter.
Monthly General Bus Tickets.
These passes are issued in three categories viz., Ordinary, Metro Liner, Metro Express validating the holders of the pass to perform unrestricted journeys by the services applicable for which it is valid and operating in that city / town. The holders of superior class of bus passes viz., Metro Liner General bus ticket holders are allowed to travel by other inferior class of services viz., Metro Express, Ordinary upto the valid limits.
Bus Passes to NGO's.
As per the policy of the Government of Andhra Pradesh, the NGOs i.e., Govt. employees working in twin cities, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Warangal are being issued Monthly General bus passes for travel by the city / suburban services operating in these cities to enable them to attend to their duties. The employees will pay 1/3rd cost of the General bus ticket while the balance 2/3rd cost is reimbursed by the Andhra Pradesh State Government.
FREE Bus Passes to Youth Attending Interviews.
Youth attending interviews conducted by the Government agencies like APPSC, DSC and State owned Public Sector Undertakings are issued "to & fro" free bus pass for which the Government of Andhra Pradesh will reimburse the cost of journeys in full to the Corporation.
Monthly Season Ticket (Moffusil).
Monthly season tickets are issued to the regular commuters like office goers, students, business men etc., in rural areas upto a maximum distance of 100 KMs. (20 stages). These passes are of two types viz., Ordinary and Express Monthly season tickets. The tariffs of these passes are fixed basing on the distance the pass holder intends to travel from one stage to another.
Monthly Route Passes (Cities / Towns).
Monthly route passes have been introduced for the benefit of general commuters to travel by the city / town services operating in Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada w.e.f. 01.04.2002. This facility is also extended in Warangal and Hanumakonda cities w.e.f. 01.06.2002. These passes are issued in three slabs i.e., upto 4 KMs., 8 KMs., and 12 KMs. Tariff of these passes are fixed at 20 days normal fare.
MLA's., Their Spouses and MP's.
In accordance with the orders of the Government of Andhra Pradesh, Corporation is allowing all the MLA's., their spouses and MP's hailing from the A.P. to travel free by all its services viz., City, Ordinary, Express, AC Coaches. An attendant is allowed when MLA or spouse of MLA travel singly. When MLA and spouse of MLA travel together, they are not allowed to take one attendant. The Government of Andhra Pradesh have been reimbursing subsidy to the Corporation @ Rs.100/- per MLA, spouse of MLA and MP per month.
Freedom Fighters of Andhra Pradesh.
In pursuance of the policy of the Government, Corporation is issuing bus passes to all the Freedom Fighters of Andhra Pradesh who crossed 65 years of age and receiving pension either from the Government of Andhra Pradesh or from the Central Government. The spouses of Freedom Fighters although receive pension are not allowed any free bus pass facility. The Freedom Fighters holding passes are allowed to travel free by all types of services of the Corporation. The Government of Andhra Pradesh will reimburse the cost of travel to Corporation for the claim preferred which is based on the cost of operation from time to time.
Employees' Children.
As a welfare measure to the employees of the Corporation, all the children of the employees studying in schools / colleges are extended all types of student bus passes at an additional concession of 75 % over the rates of bus passes charged to other students.

Bus Pass Eligibility Criteria
Type of Pass Conditions
1. Students Below 12 Years. The School / Institution shall be of Govt.,Govt. aided or private registered one. The Head of the Institution shall certify the date of birth and bonafides of the students. Free route pass between residence and school will be issued by the nearest Depot
Manager.
2. Girl Students Studying Upto Class X Girl students upto an upper age limit of 18 years studying class X and below shall be issued with free route pass between the residence to school and back upto a maximum distance upto 20 KMs. in rural areas and 22 KMs. in cities / towns. The students studying in Govt., Govt. aided or private registered school are eligible for which the Head of the school shall certify the date of birth and bonafides of the students.
3. Students Monthly / Quarterly route Passes/General Bus Passes The school / college / higher educational and Technical institution where the student is studying shall have recognition of the State or Central Govt. The courses
shall be of full time in nature. The
students shall not be in receipt of any
stipend / fellowship and should not have been employed. The institution shall have affiliation to any Board or University of the State / Central Govt. which conducts examinations and issues certificates. The students shall obtain certification of the Head of the Institution in the application form prescribed and submit to obtain the
bus pass from the nearest Unit Manager.
4. Physicaslly Disabled Physically handicapped, mentally retarded, blind, deaf & dumb shall produce certificate issued by the District Medical Board concerned.

The blind are those in whom the sight is totally absent i.e., loss of sight in both eyes.

Mentally retarded person is he who is under the category of IQ-40 and below.Deaf & Dumb are those in whom the sense of hearing and speaking is fully nonfunctional for ordinary purpose of life. He does not hear / understand sound at all even with amplified speech.

Orthopaedically handicapped are those who have 40 % and above disability.

Escorts for mentally retarded and blind persons are allowed based on the certification of the Medical authorities.

Deaf & Dumb are those in whom the sense of hearing and speaking is fully nonfunctional for ordinary purpose of life. He does not hear / understand sound at all even with amplified speech.

Orthopaedically handicapped are those who have 40 % and above disability.

Escorts formentally retarded and blind persons are allowed based on the certification of the Medical authorities.

5. Student Exclusive Bus Pass Students numbering not less than 60 willing to avail exclusive student special shall be provided with exclusive bus facility. The minimum route length for operating the service is 16 KMs. in cities / towns and
20 KMs. in rural areas. The tariff shall be collected extra on pro-rata basis,
depending upon the additional distance involved.
6. NGOs Bus Pass AP State Government employees working in twin cities, Visakhapatnam,
Vijayawada and Warangal and whose pay is below the scale of Rs.2930 to 5960(prerevised) , are issued NGOs bus passes priced at Rs.280/- and Rs.335/- for City and Sub-urban travel respectively. The Controlling Officer will certify the bonafides of the NGO for obtaining this pass. The NGO will pay 1/3rd cost of the pass and the balance 2/3rd's cost will be reimbursed by AP State Government.
7. Monthly Season Tickets /
Monthly Route Passes / Monthly G.B.T.
General public are issued with monthly season tickets in rural areas and route passes in cities/towns. The holders of this pass will be charged 20 days (one 'Up' and one 'Down') fare i.e., 1/3rd concession allowing them to perform journey on all days of the month.

Monthly General Bus Tickets are issued for travel by City Ordinary, Metro Express and Metro Liner services at a monthly cost of Rs.310/-, Rs.400/- and Rs.450/- respectively. Holders of the pass are permitted to perform unrestricted journey by the services for which the pass is valid.

8. Travel as U Like Travel As You Like Tickets are issued to all general public allowing the holder to perform unrestricted travel on that day by the City / Suburban services under operation in the city / town. These tickets are available with conductors of all services. There are two types of Travel As You Like viz., Travel As You Like Ordinary and Travel As You Like Metro.
9. Greater Hyderabad /
Krishnaveni Darshan /
Visakha Darshan
These passes are issued to general public and students. The cost of the pass is fixed at the base rate of Suburban General bus ticket and additional fare beyond Suburban limits depending upon the distance
involved.
